Jørgen Johansen

Born 1956. International secretary of Folkereisning Mot Krig (Norwegian section of War Resisters‚ International, WRI) 1976-79. Editor of Natur i Østfold 1979-1981. Editorial member of Ikkevold 1979-1984. A member of the working group who published articles of illegal American bases in Norway. The following trial ended in a Supreme Court Decision of "Not Guilty" with three against two votes.
Editor of the Nordic Ecophilosophical magazine Ringen 1981-84. Norwegian representative in WRI Council 1981-1991. Main teacher on the one year course in Peace Work at Grebbestad Folkhigh School 1987-88. Organiser of an international study conference on "Nonviolent Struggle and Social Defence" by WRI and Bradford School of Peace Studies, Bradford 1990.
