Michael True

Michael True (1933–2019) was an American professor, poet, and peace activist, widely recognized for his work on the nonviolent tradition and peace culture. He is especially known for writing and teaching about nonviolence as a moral, cultural, and political practice—often linking it to American literature and public life. True published books and essays in the peace studies field and served as President of the IPRA Foundation (International Peace Research Association Foundation) from 2001 to 2003.
